MEMBER OF THE SPECIAL PERSON'S CLUB BECOMES MEMBER OF SRC

By Aishat Bello
Olamide, visually impaired student of Special Education and former member of the press reached out to this pressman to inform her that he had been made a member of the Student Representative Council through delegation by President of the Special Person's club, Aboyeji Joseph.

During the brief conversation, Olamide revealed that this inclusion has come as a result of the former president of Special Education, Boluwatife Ayanwole (Prof B) reviving the Special Person's club and making demands for people with disabilities to be more involved in school politics and finally getting an assurance that it will happen from the former UISU president, Adewole Adeyinka (Mascot).

However this plan only came to actualisation when the new UISU president Samson Tobiloba (Host) reached out to the president of Special Person's club asking for names of their members who would be included in the SRC. Of the three names submitted, Olamide Akolawole was selected.

He expressed hope that this development would positively benefits all students with disabilities since one of them is now involved in decision making.
