The female team of Special Education has dropped out of the Dean's Cup football tournament today 17th of February in protest of the conclusion to the SPE Vs KHE match played on Thursday 15th of February.
Recall that the match between the two teams was met with commotion and ended with Special Education team and supporters unsatisfied with the referee's decision.
Later that night, the PRO who was in charge of publicising results on behalf of the NUESA sports director announced that the results of the match would be decided after a meeting with sports director of the two teams.
However, according to Special Education sports director, the NUESA sports director reached out to him to inform that the referee's decision stands and KHE wins the match with a score of 4:1 without holding any meeting as announced.
This led to the Sports Director of Special Education and majority of the female team agree that they should drop out of the tournament in protest of the decision.
The sports director for NUESA while speaking to some Special Education students stated that the conduct of the Special Education Sports Director was against the rules and that he, as the head of the Dean's Cup committee had no power to influence the results. When asked why announcement of the result was delayed as it suggested that action was to be taken based on the complaints, the sports director deflected the question and only said that the sports director of the two departments were not available at the same time when he wanted to hold the meeting.
