STUDENT UNION AND SRC PLANS MASS ACTION ON PRESSING ISSUES

Following a protest organised on the 16th of July, 2024 around 10:pm, a release from student leaders stating demands from the union as well as a planned mass action has been released via the grassroot leaders.
The release which came in form of a WhatsApp broadcast as well as two audio messages from the speaker of the SRC; Opegbemi Matthias and president of the student union; Aweda Oloye, contained details of the planned action.
Contained in the audio messages were the following;
1) There is no class and transportation within the campus today.
2) There is a mass action starting by 5a.m today (17th of July) and the Student Union will make available all necessary resources including the aluta jet and public address system to embark on this action.
3) School authority in association with maintenance should withdraw the 10 hours electricity ration memo that was earlier released.
4) Total reversal of school fees and refunding of balance to those that have paid.
5) The union condemned the victimization of the UI 3 that embarked on a peaceful protest directed towards reduction of school fees.
